Long Spring Traps are among the most traditional foot-hold restraining devices used to catch and hold wild animals. This style of trap was first produced by primitive hand forge methods and was later mass produced beginning in the mid 1800's. Like other foot-hold traps, Long Spring Traps are manufactured of steel components but are powered by tempered steel springs that extend out from the trap. Long Spring traps by design are very secure in holding power and are preferred by trappers for this very reason.
